A historic shopping arcade along the eastern side of Red Square, notable not only for its stores but also for its elegant interior galleries, glass roofs and the atmosphere of a traditional Moscow passage. It is an easy indoor pause between the major landmarks of the city centre.

Even without shopping, walk through the central galleries and look at the interior from the upper levels. GUM is particularly useful in poor weather or as a break between Red Square, St Basil’s Cathedral and Nikolskaya Street.
